We take you deep into the rugged landscapes of the Përmet region, traversing steep mountain passes and accessing remote terrain far beyond where normal vehicles can reach. This is a full-day immersion into the heart of the Trebeshinë-Dhëmbel-Nemërçkë mountain range.
Your day begins with a thrilling 4x4 safari, climbing up dirt tracks and ancient shepherd paths. You'll pass through hidden, centuries-old stone villages where the traditional Albanian way of life remains completely preserved. Once we reach our high-altitude basecamp, we leave the engines behind and switch to foot power. Your expert local guide will lead you on a breathtaking trek through alpine meadows and dense forests, culminating in panoramic views of the entire Vjosa River valley. It’s an epic day of exploration, culture, and active adventure.
Meet at our Përmet center, grab a morning coffee, and load into our specialized 4x4 off-road vehicles. We immediately leave the asphalt behind and begin our steep, thrilling ascent into the mountains.
We navigate rugged terrain, making stops at historic stone villages and panoramic viewpoints. Your guide will explain the local folklore, history, and the unique architecture of these isolated communities.
We park the vehicles at a high-altitude plateau and begin our guided trek. Walking through pristine alpine meadows and forests, you'll experience the pure silence and fresh air of the Albanian Alps.
We reach our ultimate viewpoint overlooking the Vjosa Valley to enjoy a well-earned traditional picnic lunch. Afterward, we hike back to the vehicles for the rugged descent back to Përmet.
The actual trekking time is usually around 2.5 to 3 hours, taken at a comfortable, moderate pace. The rest of the time is spent on the off-road safari, taking photos, and enjoying lunch.
Yes! This is a true off-road experience on unpaved mountain trails. It is a thrilling, bumpy ride, which is part of the adventure, but please let us know if you have severe back issues.
